Royal Parks Half 2019

October 13th 2019

Congratulations to our team of 8 intrepid runners who braved the wind and rain in central London to take on the Royal Parks Half marathon.

The team raised a fantastic £2,150 for Sapphire Medical Foundation. The team of 8 included our trustee Simon, as well as a number of volunteers. Simon who was completing his first half marathon thanked all the other runners. ‘The conditions were testing, but I want to thank all other runners for their hard efforts and the money they helped raise for a fantastic cause. My legs really felt it the next day and I was struggling to get around at work, but I hope to get back out there soon help others raise more money for the foundation.’

Congratulations to Dr Mikael Sodergren who took on the world’s biggest cross-country ski race to raise money for Sapphire Medical Foundation in challenging conditions
Mikael, who had never attempted cross-country skiing before signing up last year, raised a staggering £1,451. Mikael who completed the 90km race in 10 hours and 59 minutes said the following about his achievements: ‘It was truly a marathon event and I don’t think I’ll be rushing back onto the cross-country skis but I’m really happy to have raised such a significant amount which can hopefully be used to improve the lives of those struggling with conditions where medical cannabis may benefit, but is currently out of reach.’
